The Millennial tiny house features an ingenious retractable staircase

The Millennial tiny house has one the best design I’ve ever seen: it’s extremely light and open even though it’s just 7.2 x 2.4m and has the feel of a much bigger home. The petite house was created by Build Tiny in New Zealand and one of its main features is a retractable sliding staircase that leads up to the loft bed. It also boasts a dedicated office loft which can do double duty as a guest space.

The bathroom is placed under the sleeping loft and the staircase is hidden away in a storage unit when it isn’t in use.

The bathroom has a full size shower, composting toilet, wardrobe and vanity.

And a laundry nook

Wood chips for the composting toilet.

The kitchen is equipped with a full sized oven and fridge

Wall ladder into to the dedicated office loft. This can be set up as a single sleeping space too on request.

The price for a complete build is $120,500 NZD that’s about 87,000 USD, but you can also purchase the house in two other stages and finish it yourself.
