A Small French Apartment Awash in Bold Blue Hues

French design bureau Insides interior designer Maria Olofsson was given the task of transforming a small apartment in Marseilles. The goal was to turn this drab, dull space into one of comfort, style, and practicality for rental purposes. While it seemed impossible, Maria was up for the challenge.

The property owner and Maria started with the technical side of things. They then completely transformed the kitchen and the bathroom which backed onto it on the other side of the wall.

The kitchen, with stunning natural wood cabinetry, is a beautiful shade of blue and flows seamlessly through to the living space.

The living area is a bold, bright, and beautiful area with a lovely blue velvet sofa, integrated TV screen, and a stunning open layout.

The blue velvet sofa is the focal point in the living area, tying the blue wall shades together in each area of the apartment.

A glass partition wall creates a sense of separation from the living room, dressing room, and bedroom.

The bedroom carries on the same vibrant hues as the rest of the apartment.

The bathroom underwent a full overhaul with a large tiled shower, wall-hung toilet, concealed WC cistern, and stunning metro-style tiles.

These tiles were also placed in the kitchen to carry on the same style. Completing the picture was the cement floor tiles.

The final change was the entrance. The original wardrobe remained, but new doors and linen fabric offered a softer touch.
