The Designer’s Tiny House

As a residential designer Vina Lustado always wanted to design and build her own home, but she could not find a way to do it without a mortgage.

After she found the Tiny House movement, Vina was able to build her own self-sufficient home for $35,000 with the help of her partner, and other local craftspeople. The construction was completed in 13 months.

Sol-haus-tiny-house-8 Her design has 140 ft2 of living space (based on 8’ x 20’ trailer) and is wholly self-sufficient. There is plenty of storage and multi-purpose furniture for functionality and livability.

The tiny house is equipped with luxuries such as a gas fireplace and operable skylights.

The interior is bathed in natural light and feels spacious and serene.
