Finding a tiny home that suits your unique needs is never easy, but some will undoubtedly catch your eye more than others. The Sycamore Tiny House by Kansas-based tiny house builder Made Relative could be one such house that you’ll fall head over heels in love with.
The beautiful nature-style home is the fourth custom tiny house that Made Relative has constructed, and they could not have done a better job if they tried.
They ticked all the boxes, from the natural timbers present throughout the design to the custom furniture, spacious layout, and beautiful lighting. This 30-foot tiny home with a minimalist palette and a nod to nature can’t help but stand out from the crowd.
Made Relative built the Sycamore Tiny House on a 30-foot by 8.5-foot tiny house trailer. It boasts cedar siding, a shed-style roof, and an abundance of natural elements.
Once you’re indoors, it’s hard to believe you’re in a tiny house. There are 320 square feet of living space, 11 windows to let in plenty of natural light, and a beautiful light color scheme to offer the illusion of space.
The interior consists of contemporary white shiplap and birch combined with engineered waterproof hickory tongue and grooving flooring. Even once night falls, this home remains light, bright, and spacious with the addition of overhead dimmable LED lighting.
Above the beautiful living space is a 32-square-foot secondary storage loft. It has enough space for two twin-size mattresses and can be a bedroom or storage room. You can access the loft with a removable ladder that tucks away under the breakfast bar when not in use.
Custom homes often call for custom furniture, and the pieces inside The Sycamore tiny house are an absolute delight. A custom-made peach velvet sofa with elm accents and built-in storage takes pride of place under the storage loft. It can quickly be converted into an extra sleeping space.
Clutter can be a problem in any tiny home, but that problem is solved in the living area. There’s a beautiful elm entertainment center with outlets for a convenient TV setup. The warmth of the wood also works in harmony with the stark white shiplap.
Shelving is a must in the homes of book and knick-knack lovers. This tiny home has an abundance of shelving, along with cubbies featuring outlets for electronics.
A dedicated workspace is set up in the living room for the studious family member. This consists of an attached elm work desk adjacent to the sofa, with a coordinating chair. This desk can be used for hobbies, work, study, or even dining.
Storage was a significant consideration in The Sycamore tiny house. Elm-topped cubbies function as extra storage for the desk and seating area in the living room.
The kitchen is where the family undoubtedly comes together. A sycamore bar is paired with two copper bar stools and a matching footrest. Above the bar is a wide window that lets in plenty of natural light. The kitchen bar is also where the removable loft ladder is stored.
The kitchen has everything you need to cook up a storm, including open-faced storage with attractive custom-made live-edge sycamore and a fitted fridge/freezer.
All countertops in the kitchen feature two-inch-thick elmwood that contrasts beautifully against the green cabinetry and white farmhouse-style sink. The kitchen also boasts an elm backsplash, a single-handle matching white faucet with pull-down spray, a full-size gas range with an oven and warming drawer, and a ventless hood fan with lighting. The owners of this tiny house would want for nothing while living here.
Opposite the kitchen is a functional and convenient switchback staircase with beautifully finished elm tops. This staircase provides access to the master bedroom while also boasting a generous amount of storage space.
A lot of planning has gone into ensuring the bathroom is a peaceful, natural paradise. There’s luxury floating vinyl flooring, space for a washer/dryer unit with all the hook-ups, and a convenient white LED vanity light.
The bathroom features the same elm slabs you see in the kitchen, along with the same striking cabinetry. There is also a vented fan and copper towel hangers in this space.
The two-inch-thick elm countertop in the bathroom with a white vessel sink is a statement piece. It also pairs beautifully with the sycamore backsplash and custom-made wood herringbone bathroom door.
The toilet looks akin to those you’d find in your average home. It’s a dual flush one-piece toilet positioned on luxury flooring with white shiplap walls.
The owners of this gorgeous tiny house are bound to be impressed by the shower. It’s a generous 48 inches by 36 inches with a seating bench.
The master loft is a generous 80 square feet, with plenty of space for a queen mattress. This light, bright, and spacious area also has a custom-made copper loft rail for safety.
Made Relative has gone all out in the bedroom by installing dimmable overhead LED lighting and contemporary bedside reading lights. There are also two swivel open windows for airflow and sycamore corner pieces for close-to-bed storage.
