Tiny house living has typically been associated with loft levels and ladders. While suitable for many people, such living arrangements don’t work for everyone! Seeing the need for a more accessible living layout, Australian tiny house company Häuslein Tiny House Co. answered the call with the ‘Luna’ model.
Luna is a single-level tiny house suitable for up to two people to live comfortably. This beautiful one-level house on wheels boasts a comfortable bedroom, living and kitchen area, and bathroom, with no stairs or lofts to worry about.
But that’s not all Häuslein Tiny House Co. has done to make this tiny house appeal to the masses. They also give you the freedom to choose your new tiny house’s appearance. The company will clad your tiny house in Lunawood or Western Red Cedar and line the inside with premium birch ply panels with shadow lines for contemporary elegance or solid pine lining boards for that more classic appeal. This tiny house also has COLORBOND® Surfmist or Monument to tie the look together.
You can also choose how you want to use Luna to suit your unique needs. Some people pay the $132,500+ purchase price to live comfortably in Luna full-time. This is made easy with its easy-to-relocate trailer base, full-size appliance compatibility, air conditioning, and single-level layout. Others prefer to use their tiny homes as accommodation for Airbnb guests or family and friends.
Luna is a single-level 8.2m long, 2.5m wide, and 4.3m tall tiny house built by the Australian company, Häuslein Tiny House Co. It has been built on a high-quality, heavy-duty trailer chassis and boasts 22 square metres of living space for part-time or full-time living.
Everything about this tiny house build spells quality, from the termite-resistant timber frames and COLORBOND® cladding to the stunning vertical Lunawood feature cladding. It’s also entirely self-contained, with a 15-amp plug-in power connection, the same as a standard caravan. There is also a garden hose fitting for a convenient house water supply.
Those who choose to call Luna home will be impressed with all the high-quality features from floor to ceiling. Striking black aluminium windows and doors with SP10 SmartGlass contrast beautifully against the richness of the wood grain. All windows also have fly screens to keep out those pesky bugs while still enjoying plenty of fresh air.
Homeowners can choose from birch plywood panels with black shadow lines for contemporary elegance. Alternatively, they can opt for the more traditional solid pine lining boards.
Signature Slide-Out Feature
This tiny home is already deceivingly spacious, but the signature slide-out feature by Häuslein adds even more room. This feature enables tiny homeowners to extend a portion of the wall outward for more living space, raised 100mm above the rest of the home. The extra space allows for a 2000mm wide by 900mm deep sofa.
The kitchen area is an entertainer’s paradise, with a gorgeous solid beech dining table with metal legs finished in natural tung oil. This table comfortably caters to two in its standard form but can extend to seat four people. Add your own chairs, and you have an intimate dining space to enjoy a meal with loved ones.
Double-Sided Kitchen
Everything about this kitchen spells quality, from the dark contemporary colors to the high-end cabinetry. This double-sided kitchen boasts plenty of storage space, gorgeous grey rhino ply cabinetry, and soft-close drawers and cupboards.
The home’s cook will be in their element in the kitchen nook. The modern brass fixtures pair beautifully with the splashback. There’s also a convenient under-sink pull-out bin, an electric induction two-burner stove, and space for a drawer dishwasher.
The brass kitchen sink is undoubtedly a highlight in the kitchen. Its lightness contrasts against the dark cabinetry yet works seamlessly with the solid beech bench with its natural tung oil finish. The mint green splashback tiles complete the look. Despite multiple colors being used in this area, they all work together in harmony.
While appliances aren’t always provided in Luna, there is space for a three-in-one microwave, convection oven, and air fryer. There is also a dedicated nook for a full-size 308L fridge. You don’t even have to worry about using a laundromat since Häuslein made sure to leave space and install plumbing for a washer/dryer combo unit.
With modern appliances in place, you’ll be amazed at how cohesive this space is with its textures and metallic grey epoxy flooring throughout.
Queen-Size Mattress
The bedroom area in Luna has plenty of space for a queen-size mattress. This space is also beautifully bright, courtesy of the wraparound windows.
Storage is no problem in Luna. The bedroom boasts two closets and shelving over the bed. Having a sliding door, rather than an opening one, also maximizes the available space.
High-quality wool carpet in a modern charcoal color makes the bedroom look warm, inviting, and stylish. The queen-sized bed also has a versatile bed base with a large drawer built into it for storage.
Cohesion has been easily achieved in Luna. The same Rhino ply cabinetry present in the kitchen can be found in the bathroom. The bathroom also has a traditional flush toilet as standard, but you can upgrade to a compost toilet if required. There is also an extraction fan for a more comfortable living experience for all!
The matte white ceramic basin is beautifully modern and fresh, especially when paired with the gorgeous tiles and LED backlit mirror. The modern brass fixtures also match those found in the kitchen.
There are no cramped showers for tiny home dwellers here! This tiny home comes equipped with a 900mm x 900mm shower boasting a glass door. You’ll also enjoy instant hot water courtesy of the Dux instant gas hot water system. All wastewater plumbing has been plumbed to one point underneath the bathroom for convenience.
