Off-the-grid camping used to be a “rough and ready” style of camping that barely surpassed the luxury level of tenting. It was sometimes cramped, uncomfortable, and was basically another word for “roughing it.” But the Living Vehicle 2020 is turning this nomadic way of its life on its head – from barely livable to absolute luxury.
The Living Vehicle, which starts at $199,995, is a 220 square feet net-zero electric travel trailer with an aluminum body. Out of 25 units ready for production, five are already sold.
Perhaps what makes this trailer all the more desirable is that it relies on no external power or water sources. It uses a lithium battery system, 3,000 watts of solar energy, and a rainwater management system. Everything about this trailer is about conservation and zero waste.
It’s capable of keeping its occupants comfortable throughout four seasons of the year and has 16 inches of ground clearance for those off-the-beaten-track adventures. Travelers will also enjoy the excellent departure angle, over-engineered frame and chassis, and clean interior reminiscent of an inner-city apartment.
The trailer is able to sleep 4 people with separate sleeping spaces for each pair. Effortlessly adjust the dining table and rearrange the cushions of the lounge to create a comfortable Queen-sized bed in the living area. The Euro Loft option increases sleeping capacity to six through a hidden full-size bunk that automatically lowers from the ceiling when needed.
Each space is highly functional and intuitive to use, some spaces taking on multiple functions so that you can get the most out of your home. Open up your space by placing the removable kitchen island outside where you can do cooking on the deck.
The kitchen has been meticulously designed by chefs to be both functional and beautiful. It features a removable cooking island, 9 cu.ft. all-electric solar refrigerator (optional 12.5 cu. ft) and European-style residential fixtures. Optional stainless steel dishwasher and European style marine three-burner oven with flush-mounted glass cooktop cover elevates your cooking experience to the next level.
The master bedroom is designed to be your personal haven.
It sports a queen bed, cool-touch 10 inch memory-foam mattress and LV exclusive Starview skylight.
The spa-style bathroom is your private home sanctuary to relax and unwind.
Walnut finishes and natural, highly durable materials add a touch of luxury along with additional high-end options.
Enjoy a spacious 36” x 36” wet-dry shower with a rainfall shower and skylight above to let in sunshine while you bathe
Remarkably, this trailer can produce 8.7 kWh of power courtesy of its inverter and solar panel on the roof. It also has a curved roof to collect water, a tankless water heater, and a generous 0.4 GPM flow rate that operates below freezing.
Deliveries for the Living Vehicle begin in 2020, and prospective purchasers can choose from a myriad of package options.
