The Luna Park model is the result of a unique collaboration between New Frontier Design and Zook Cabins, combining contemporary and traditional elements in a way that feels both luxurious and understated. This tiny home offers thoughtful design with natural light streaming through its large windows, highlighting the crisp white shiplap walls and oak features inside.
According to New Frontier design home designer David Latimer, Luna’s design is a juxtaposition of contemporary and traditional elements. Luna, at 11 x 36 feet (396 square feet), is also proof that you don’t have to give up the luxuries you’re accustomed to in a traditional-sized home.
The use of glass in multiple rooms creates a seamless connection with the outdoors, and the blend of sleek black metal siding with warm cedar accents adds a modern touch. Inside, practical features like quartz countertops, soft-close birch cabinets, and a spacious subway-tiled shower make everyday living feel special without feeling extravagant.
Many wonderful features are packed into a conservative 11 x 36 feet (396 square feet) floorplan. This contemporary home or getaway has been built on a heavy-duty steel trailer with a four-axle chassis and detachable hitch. The exterior boasts black textured metal siding and roof with a 1/8 pitch and 70-pound snow load roof system.
The black metal siding works in harmony with the black stained cedar accents and Penofin Verde natural oil sealer around the large gable window. Completing the look is the signature LED valance lighting.
Cold winters need never be a problem, courtesy of the R17 closed cell spray foam insulation in the walls, floors, and ceiling. The Luna Park model is well-equipped for everyday living with a fibreglass entry door, a Yale Assure lock system with a WiFi entry lock, a garden hose water inlet connection, a sewer connection, and 100-amp service.
When you enter the Luna Park model for the first time, luxury features immediately make themselves known. There is modern yet practical engineered hardwood flooring throughout, smooth flat panel interior doors, and all the lights, outlets, and dimmer switches you need for comfortable everyday living.
The open-plan living, dining, and kitchen is spacious and beautifully designed for everyday enjoyment. The slatted oak wall features add a sense of separation between the bedroom and living area. The ceiling valance lighting is also a nice touch for modernity and brightness on those dreary days. The home’s occupants remain warm year-round courtesy of the dual ductless mini-split unit installed in the living area.
The bedroom area at the rear of the tiny home is akin to those found in many luxury homes and apartments. Wake up to glorious views outside the large floor-to-ceiling window. The custom oak floating bed platform is undoubtedly the star of the show with its LED strip lights for a touch of modernity.
All walls throughout the Luna model are white shiplap paired with white window trim.
The living area in Luna is an entertainer’s paradise. A spacious three-seater sofa takes pride of place in the middle, with a seating table/bar and oak countertop adjacent.
The oak table and chairs are tucked away next to the floor-to-ceiling windows, offering spectacular views and plenty of natural light during meal times.
The kitchen in this tiny home model is more than a practical meal preparation hub. It’s a work of art. New Frontier Design and Zook Cabins installed a birch kitchen with full-extension soft-close drawers and doors. The birch cabinetry contrasts beautifully with the quartz waterfall countertop.
The home’s cooks can enjoy large kitchen storage cabinets, six floating shelves with LED strip lights, and a generous 30-inch white farmhouse apron-style sink.
The kitchen is large enough for two people to comfortably cook and prepare meals with the SUMMIT two-burner electric cooktop, 10.1 cubic-foot counter-depth refrigerator, and Rheem 28-gallon electric water heater.
The bathroom in the Luna Park model has everything you need for comfortable living, including an elongated toilet, all plumbing included, a white 24-inch solid surface floating vanity, a 24-inch modern frameless LED mirror, a bathroom exhaust fan, ENVI electric panel wall heater, and all Delta premium faucets and hardware. The bathroom even has a washer/dryer hookup.
The beautiful and relaxing shower sits adjacent to the vanity and toilet in the bathroom. It boasts a five-foot fiberglass shower base, easy-care white subway tiles, a glass door, and two practical 10-inch corner shelves.
