It was a recipe for success: A little bit of time, a dash of passion, one dedicated owner of Supertramped Co., Ashley Webber, and one beautifully retro Mercedes-Benz 508D owned by Kim & Martyn. Add a well-thought-out moodboard with warm terracotta tones, soft yellow hues, muted greens, and natural timber, and you have a peaceful, soulful, and charming house on wheels named Juno.
When Kim and Martyn approached Ashley from Supertramped Co., their aim was simple: a calming, homely, and warm space that emanated peace and privacy and helped them switch off from the world. While maintaining the van’s proportions, installing windows on just one side, and using the moodboard as a guide, they achieved exactly that. Juno quickly became everything they wanted and more.
From the factory exterior color scheme, as a nod to Mercedes-Benz, to the comprehensive off-grid system and even the finer details like a custom-made mattress, Juno is the epitome of a vision, passion, and true craftsmanship brought to life.
Juno has all the bells and whistles for life on the road, including a custom-fabricated roof rack with integrated side ladder and a comprehensive electrical and off-grid system comprising a lithium leisure battery, a solar panel system, remote control systems for blinds and windows, and even a surround-sound amplifier and speaker system.
While Juno is a vintage van, no stone has been left unturned in bringing this van into the 21st century and creating a functional, convenient, and technologically advanced home.
This extends all the way down to the exterior and chassis. Juno underwent a complete transformation with metalwork repairs, a shot-blasted chassis, a primed and painted chassis, a custom-engineered lift kit, and custom heavy-duty shock absorbers to suit Juno’s weight and suspension geometry. All interior body panels were coated with a protective treatment, and all windows and glazing received new rubber seals. Supertramped Co. truly covered all bases.
Just as Juno’s exterior and interior underwent a complete transformation, so did the cab. Supertramped Co. provided a fresh coat of paint and replaced the windscreen and quarter panel glass. Ensuring a comfortable ride are bespoke upholstered cab seating with a matching headliner and seven new commercial-grade light truck tyres.
Ashley Webber really leaned into the moodboard, weaving its warm, earthy palette throughout the entire build. Terracotta tones mingle with calming greens and soft yellows, while natural timber adds warmth and texture. Together, the colors create a soothing, restful space that practically invites you to sit back, relax, and stay awhile.
The kitchen is a quaint and practical space to cook up a storm, whether you’re staying local or out in the wilderness. Dual underslung freshwater tanks provide 264 litres of fresh water, while a single underslung tank takes care of wastewater. An underslung autogas LPG tank system ensures ample gas for cooking on the CAN gas hob. There is also a convenient Dometic oven, a Thetford fridge and freezer system, and an Arison LPG boiler system. It doesn’t get much more convenient than that.
Beyond its functionality, the kitchen wins you over with its simple, natural charm. Handmade oak parquet flooring brings warmth underfoot, while locally sourced and machined British Western Red Cedar cladding adds even more texture and character. Even the walls were thoughtfully considered: Juno is finished throughout in Edward Bulmer Natural Paint, a plant-based option that fits beautifully with the home’s nature-inspired aesthetic.
Nothing about the cabinetry in this tiny home is boring. It has all been handmade with dovetail joint construction throughout. The rustic nature of the cabinetry ties in well with the solid oak worktop and dining table.
While the kitchen’s placement below the van’s window ensures plenty of natural light for meal preparation, there’s also no shortage of lighting in Juno. There are antique brass nautical wall lights throughout, as well as antique brass spotlights and custom-made reading lights. Supertramped Co. even took care of the exterior of the van, installing exterior LED lighting.
As if this home on wheels couldn’t get any more charming, you notice the small details. The kitchen is home to a Belfast sink with a gorgeous antique brass bridge tap fitting. The shiny brass is a match made in heaven with the green walls and terracotta-colored curtains. These curtains, and those throughout the entire van, are entirely custom.
The fold-down solid oak workbench is a nice touch. It provides additional meal-preparation space, but you can quickly fold it down for easy entry and exit from the van.

The living/dining area adjacent to the kitchen is intimate and private with a custom-upholstered corner sofa and solid oak coffee/dining table.
While only one side of the van features custom-manufactured double-glazed windows, the living/dining space is far from dark and dreary. A 1m x 2m openable Velux skylight with an integrated solar blind system lights up the space.
The custom sofa in the living/dining area features pull-out drawers for the easy storage of everyday essentials.
The bedroom area is to the rear of the van, tucked away in a private section from the living and kitchen space.
The small hallway makes clever use of every inch, with a fridge-freezer and closet tucked neatly along one side. Directly opposite, you’ll find the shower cabin, keeping all the practical essentials conveniently close together.
The shower cabin features a generous 1000mm-by-700mm stone resin shower tray, surrounded by gorgeous tilework that gives the compact space plenty of character. Custom-made shower fittings complete the look, adding a thoughtful, bespoke touch.
For the best shower tray positioning and to maximise all available space, Supertramped Co. custom-fabricated the inner wheel arch.
The bedroom area to the rear of the van is a peaceful oasis for the owners. They can lie in bed with the curtains shut to block out wild weather. Alternatively, they can leave them wide open, along with the doors, to enjoy a pleasant breeze and sunshine.
Storage in the camper is abundant, with a cupboard and drawers accessible from the rear. Just like the rest of the van, nothing about Juno is standard. Even the bed is something special, with a custom mattress and a vented mattress protection system.
