When an old office no longer was fit for purpose, a new vision was born. Why not create a studio apartment with an entirely new look and a facelift? The seed was planted, and it would be Margaux Carnevali from Neva Interior Design that would bring it to life.
With “Mellow Yellow” as its name, this 18m2/194 ft2 old office building underwent a magnificent transformation. While it may have only been suitable for a lone office worker at one point, it’s now fit for two people to live comfortably and in style.
It features a 3.2-meter-high ceiling, bold, bright, and beautiful colors, and plenty of unique features that both work with the contemporary styling and highlight its classic origins. The living area, with an alcove, features a beautiful and vibrant yellow feature wall, further enhanced by a custom bookcase and stark white adjacent wall.
The cozy living area features a custom-made bookcase to act as storage.
What’s more, this entire area is brought together with the striking contrast of a white ceiling with round filament bulbs, brass sockets, and a lovely metal sun mirror.
Mere meters from the living and dining area sits the kitchen, which features a lovely parquet floor, cement tiling, and a unique position underneath a mezzanine floor. While it’s compact, this kitchen features ample storage and full-size appliances to promote a sense of convenient living.
The mezzanine floor utilizes all the overhead space, creating a sleeping area complete with bedside cabinets and a ladder from the kitchenette. The living room, bathroom, and kitchen are always but a few steps away.
A ladder in the kitchen leads to the mezzanine floor above.
The kitchen might be small, but it features full appliances and storage.
The home flows seamlessly with everything well-appointed and within easy reach.
Nearby sits the bathroom which will not disappoint. Enjoy the full tiling, hanging toilet, and a walk-in shower.
