Welcome to Estúdio Lapinha, a cool 323 sq. ft. container home that’s popping up in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, thanks to the creative brains at Plano Livre. While the finished product looks complete and well-established in its gorgeous surroundings, it was designed to be a two-stage home. Each container making up this modular home can be attached laterally. They can also be decoupled for easy transport.
While these containers can be integrated seamlessly to blend in with each other, each module has been cleverly designed to stand out. The green module boasts beautiful naval plywood joinery and a double bed, while the second module has an earthy orange kitchen and a blue ensuite. A partition wall separates the shower and toilet from the sink, using all available space. The shower stall is also in a hybrid space connected to the external deck by a glass door. As a result, you can enjoy stunning natural views while showering!
A great deal of thought has gone into the clever design of this 323 sq. ft. modular home, but the landscape is undoubtedly the highlight. Described by the architects as the protagonist, Estúdio Lapinha has been built for contemplation. With large glass doors, the boundaries between the home’s exterior and interior have been dissolved.
As this modular container home has also been designed as a single physical space, it’s a prototype that can be expanded and replicated. The architects can also devise different arrangements to create different spaces for different experiences.

All modules in the container home work in harmony in the 323 sq. ft. space.
It’s not just the kitchen walls that boast the earthy orange colour scheme. The kitchen cabinetry does, too. Soft-close cabinet doors and drawers paired with striking black shelves and appliances add to the sleekness of the space.
