Traditional tiny homes often have limited space, accommodating only one or two people and offering minimal storage. However, a new approach to tiny house design is emerging, as seen in the Legacy model from Tennessee-based tiny house builder, Handcrafted Movement.
The company’s Legacy build is a spacious tiny house on a 31-foot by 8.5-foot triple-axle Iron Eagle trailer with storage space galore, a flex room, and two sleeping rooms. Realistically, there is room for an entire family inside this beautiful two-tone tiny home on wheels.
This warm and welcoming tiny house also boasts high-quality appliances, a mini-split air conditioning and heating unit, and striking board & batten and cedar cladding with an additional cedar post and deck system.
Priced at $140,000 with a 16-week preparation time, this tiny house presents a more accessible option for those considering homeownership.
The Tennessee-based tiny house company Handcrafted Movement is leading the way with its Legacy build. This two-tone tiny house has been built on a 31-foot by 8.4-foot triple-axle trailer by industry-leading Iron Eagle. This road- and land-ready trailer has built-in leveling jacks, road lighting, and trailer brakes.
Legacy also has everything a homeowner needs for comfortable permanent living, including board and batten siding with cedar accents, a standing seam metal roof, and a 50-amp electrical panel with an RV outlet. Handcrafted Movement is offering this model for $140,000 with a 16-week lead time.
The door to this tiny home has been conveniently positioned in the middle, providing straightforward access to the entire property. With a full lite exterior door and coordinating side lite, you know no expense was spared in creating this Legacy build.
The farmhouse styling of this tiny house is apparent straight away. The striking white farmhouse-style sink with black hardware stands out immediately. The kitchen also has a Rinnai LP tankless water heater for immediate hot water.
It’s hard not to fall in love with this kitchen’s rustic and contemporary vibes. The walnut countertops pair beautifully with the deep blue cabinetry. There is also a mixture of matte black, copper, and brass hardware and fixtures.
While Legacy’s kitchen is rustic, it’s not without its modern conveniences. There is a stainless steel gas range, exterior vented hood fan, and LED lighting for full illumination while cooking at night.
The kitchen in this tiny home is any coffee lover’s dream space. There is a dedicated coffee station or miniature pantry. The many cubbies, cabinets, and closets mean you don’t need to worry about not having enough room for all your kitchen essentials.
Small fridges in tiny homes are not uncommon, but Handcrafted Movement knew how inconvenient they could be for families. They opted to install a stainless steel two-door, energy-efficient 10 cubic-foot fridge/freezer into the staircase. It uses the previously unutilized space under the stairs leading to the loft.
The kitchen has plenty of space for meal preparation, but it’s also an excellent gathering space for families. The built-in dining room with a bench seat gives the whole family somewhere to sit. There’s even room for extra bar stools. The wide plank distressed oak hardwood flooring in the kitchen and throughout the tiny house makes cleaning up meal crumbs and general debris a breeze.
The living area might be small, but it’s perfectly sufficient for most people. There’s room for at least two armchairs or a small sofa. It also gets plenty of natural lighting courtesy of the large window.
Tiny home dwellers will have no problems relaxing in the Legacy build. The living area comes equipped with a 40-inch Samsung Smart TV and a Bose sound bar.
Doors take up a great deal of usable space. As a result, the Handcrafted Movement team opted to install a space-saving sliding door. This leads into the ’flex’ room or downstairs bedroom.
The main-level flex room has enough space for a king bed. You can use it as a bedroom, an office, a hobby room, or just somewhere to hang out. The sky’s the limit!
The flex room not only has room for a king bed but also boasts a closet nook. Closets are hard to come by in tiny homes, but Handcrafted Movement delivered. They also managed to tie in the blue of the kitchen cabinetry with this room’s wall paint. The two-tone effect makes the space feel warm and welcoming but still modern and fresh.
The rear loft, reaching a generous size of 91 by 110 inches, is easily accessible through stairs. It’s positioned over the flex room and has space for a king-size mattress. The fresh white paint scheme makes this loft look much larger than it is.
The staircase leading to the front loft is a feature in itself. It features beautiful hardwood and a feature divider that functions as a handrail.
The front loft is positioned over the bathroom and measures 91 by 84 inches. While smaller than the rear loft, it still has enough space for a king-size mattress. It also has a built-in dresser for convenience.
Storage space is certainly not lacking in the Legacy build. Another closet and cubbies with baskets are adjacent to the bathroom.
The bathroom is everything a tiny home dweller could need. It boasts a striking black 33-inch vanity with a white countertop. There is also another closet in this bathroom. All closets provide a combined 100-hanger capacity. That’s more than the average apartment.
The toilet area of this tiny home is similar to that of a standard home. There is a window, ventilation, and an energy-efficient flush toilet complete with a black toilet paper holder.
The one-piece 36-inch by 36-inch shower is practical and easy to clean. It’s tucked away in the corner opposite the flush toilet. Homeowners can add a shower curtain to suit their unique tastes.
