Tucked away in the picturesque French countryside, Ivy is a tiny home that packs big personality into just 452 square feet of thoughtfully designed space. Created by the French tiny home company Baluchon, this custom-built beauty is a testament to how clever design and craftsmanship can transform small spaces into functional, stylish family homes.
From its striking aluminum exterior to its warm, mixed wood interior, every corner of Ivy has been meticulously planned for comfort and charm. With standout features like a hidden children’s room, sunlit dining space, and a cozy mezzanine living area, Ivy proves that tiny living can still feel expansive and inviting. Let’s step inside and explore this one-of-a-kind tiny home!
Although Baluchon hasn’t listed an online price for this particular home, their houses typically sell for €85,000 to €100,000, or approximately $94,600 to $111,300.
Ivy is the beautiful creation of French tiny home company Baluchon, which created this made-to-measure tiny home for a small family. It boasts a striking aluminum exterior.
The mixed wood interior, including gorgeous French oiled oak, is undoubtedly an attractive feature in this tiny home, especially how it makes the blue cabinetry in the kitchen pop.
The open-plan living, dining, and kitchen areas are certainly the heart of the home for the family who will be occupying the tiny house. There’s a dining table for six people in the sun-drenched dining space. The kitchen area adjacent has an oven, stovetop, fridge-freezer, sink, and dishwasher. There’s also plenty of storage space! However, the French oiled oak hardwood countertop and blue cupboard doors are the true highlights of this space.
There’ll also be no such thing as a cold winter in Ivy, courtesy of the small wood stove that comfortably heats the entire tiny home.
The kitchen comfortably guides you through to the light, bright, and spacious living area on a mezzanine floor with a large window. Here, you’ll find a convertible sofa to host guests. This beautiful space has been well thought out with an opening window, architectural ceiling, and gorgeous black fixtures to add definition to the natural wood walls.
The mezzanine floor adds definition and more floor space, but there’s more to this innovative design than meets the eye. Three drawers and a cupboard come in handy for storage. A small door also guides you through to a secret children’s bedroom under the living room.
The small bedroom tucked underneath the living room is designed with children in mind and has enough space for a double bed. It also boasts a large window for ventilation and has gorgeous French oiled oak hardwood floors.
Everything about this Ivy tiny house has been designed with practical living in mind. There’s a small coat rack by the entry and a large sliding door leading to a 20m2 terrace.
A staircase has been cleverly integrated into a small space on the ground floor. It guides you to a small landing between the upstairs bedroom and the ground floor. It provides plenty of space to change clothes and access the storage compartments.
The main bedroom boasts a clever and innovative design rarely seen in other homes. The owners requested access to the bathroom via the bedroom, which was achieved through the small staircase. The bedroom also has enough space for a large double bed and storage compartments. It offers great views over the main area while still feeling like it’s secluded and tucked away.
The staircase from the main bedroom into the bathroom is adjacent to the bathroom storage shelves. The tiny home’s occupants can enter the bathroom through the bedroom or the main living area.
The toilet in this tiny home is separate from the bathroom for family convenience. It’s a dry toilet with a stainless-steel bucket and a compost storage compartment. The toilet room even has a cat door installed so the family cat, Cachou, can access its litter box.
Of the two controlled mechanical ventilation systems in this house, the single-flow VMC is in the bathroom. The double-flow VMC, which renews air and maintains humidity levels and temperature, is in the main part of the house.
The bathroom is well-equipped for a family. It’s generously sized with storage, a vanity, a washing machine, and a 1m x 80cm shower. This space is also equipped with a storage column and a towel warmer.
