Are you weary of being tied down by mortgages and debts? Do you crave the flexibility and lure of the unknown? Does the concrete jungle of city life no longer appeal? Then Magenta, a new eleven by six-foot tiny home could be your saving grace. The best part is, this unique concept is something you can build with a little bit of DIY knowledge.
Magenta is a fully-functional tiny house created by Joshua Woodsman of Pin-up houses. At eleven by six feet, it fits snugly on a 10-foot trailer, enabling you to pull it anywhere and everywhere you’d like to go. The best part is, Magenta only took around three months to build, meaning it won’t be all that long until you’re able to be on the road yourself and the cost of materials was 2500 dollars. Easy to build plans for the Magenta house are available on Pin-up houses’ website.
Magenta incorporates a multitude of easily-sourced materials. It features waterproof plywood, polystyrene insulation to keep you snug in winter and comfortable in summer, as well as spruce beams with laths. Everything within this attractive tiny home is available from most home depot stores nationwide.
Even though Magenta is a prototype for the potential and feasibility of mass-produced pre-fabricated homes, it looks to be entirely achievable by the average homeowner. It includes a sofa bed for relaxing or sleeping, a heating stove for cooking and warmth, a small kitchenette with a gas cooker and water tank, and a chemical toilet too. Everything you need to go camping or live off the grid is available and accessible.
Even when it comes to storage Magenta covers all bases. There are sealable drawers, cabinetry, drawers under the sofa bed, and storage nets around the ceiling and walls for those loose items that might move in transit. Sealing the deal is the comfort and convenience of the electrics. There is an outdoor light, four internal lights, and entirely functional wiring.
A wood burner keeps the occupants warm and comfortable throughout the colder months.
There is plenty of cabinetry surrounding the kitchen, with a door leading to the chemical toilet too.
The entire tiny home concept is straightforward for the average DIYer.
