Living in a tiny house doesn’t mean you have to compromise on comfort or style. The latest model from Modern Tiny Living, named Sangja, is a perfect example of how luxury can be enjoyed even in a house on wheels.
The Sangja model, measuring 28 x 8.5 feet, features a first-floor master bedroom, a queen-sized loft bedroom with a privacy wall, a luxurious bathroom, and a fully equipped kitchen. Building on the success of the first Catalina model, Sangja incorporates unique new accents and a beautiful new color scheme, combining practicality with elegance. Best of all, you have the freedom to customize Sangja to suit your unique needs for appliances, materials, finishes, and customizations.
Sangja is a 28 x 8.5-foot tiny house by Modern Tiny Living offering the best of the first Catalina build but with never-before-seen accents and a gorgeous new color scheme. Sangja has been built on a 28-foot Gooseneck custom tiny home trailer foundation and features a sleek black steel roof with LP lap siding, custom ‘Mountain Range’ sliding doors, and smooth side cedar wood.
Modern Tiny Living has managed to pack a whole lot of house into a small 28-foot footprint. Homeowners can enjoy an open and spacious living, dining, and kitchen area, a bathroom adjacent to the kitchen, a first-floor bedroom with pocket doors, and a queen-sized loft bedroom accessible via a ladder.
The entire space is powered by a 50-amp service and heated by a double ductless mini-split unit. It’s helped along by three inches of closed-cell spray foam insulation in the flooring, walls, and ceiling.
The interior walls are certainly among the first features you’ll notice when you step inside Sangja. This tiny home features maple plywood throughout, but the real star of the show is the custom brown maple vertical slat wall by the sofa. This living room wall adds definition between the kitchen and bedroom areas on either side.
With only 28 square feet of living space available, Modern Tiny Living had to get creative with storage solutions. There is an abundance of storage space under the living room sofa. The black finish works beautifully with the luxury vinyl tile flooring.
Clutter can be tucked away out of sight and out of mind in the living area. The couch has pull-out storage drawers and a removable ottoman. There’s plenty of space for books, board games, blankets, and other living room goodies.
The first-floor bedroom has no shortage of storage space for its occupants. There is a built-in platform bed with storage as well as movable shelves behind the bed. This bedroom and the rest of the home also benefit from black double-pane tempered glass windows that let in plenty of natural light.
The light plywood walls in the first-floor bedroom contrast beautifully against the sizeable black window. There is also recessed LED lighting in the bedroom and throughout the rest of the tiny home.
There’s plenty of space for dining, with a high-top custom hickory table taking pride of place by the main entrance. This table is convenient for dining, extra meal prep space, and socialising.
The light materials used throughout Sangja offer the illusion of space. Yet, the clever use of darker colors as feature walls adds much-needed definition between the shared living space and the private bedroom areas.
The queen-sized loft has plenty of space for a bed, bedside tables, and other bedroom essentials. It also boasts a privacy wall and is easily accessible via a maple wood ladder into the main living area.
The large dining area window lets in plenty of natural light, combined with the skylight, to ensure great visibility for meal prep.
The kitchen is undoubtedly the highlight of Sangja for many passionate cooks. From the custom brown maple cabinetry and Corian and brown maple countertops to the gorgeous backsplash tiles and rustic hickory waterfall countertop, what’s not to love?
You’ll also have everything you need to cook up a storm, including a Furrion cooktop, oven, 20-inch rangehood, 19 cubic-foot Whirlpool stainless-steel refrigerator/freezer, and a double under-mount black sink. Modern Tiny Living even went the extra mile by providing a peg wall with moveable shelves on the refrigerator.
There is an abundance of storage space in the kitchen, with overhead cabinets and plenty of drawers underneath the striking white countertops. This tiny home kitchen is akin to those found in your average apartment or home.
The spa bathroom is everything you could ever want in a tiny home – and more. In fact, it goes beyond what you could typically expect in the conservative footprint of a tiny home bathroom. Sanja’s occupants can enjoy a Nature’s Head composting toilet, a vessel sink, and a 24-inch Equator washer/dryer combo.
The gorgeous 12-inch black hexagon tiles throughout the bathroom pair well with the ply walls and brown maple countertops. This bathroom also boasts a custom frosted glass pocket door for privacy and storage in the form of a closet with shelves and custom cabinetry.
Homeowners will be able to soak away the day’s stresses in their very own Mia 47-inch freestanding tub with a shower.
