Micro Hotel to Open at Washington Dulles International Airport

The busy Christmas season is about to get underway, and if you usually dread long-haul flights and busy airports, you will be pleasantly surprised at what’s in store for you at Washington Dulles International Airport.

Instead of having to lie down where you can find room, or sit uncomfortably for hours in an airport chair while you wait for your flight, you can book a nap pod in the new Sleepbox Nap Lounge on Concourse A.

Between Gate A6 and A14, you will be able to rent one of 16 micro hotel rooms for a fee of between $25 and $35 per hour. There is a 12-hour limit, costing as much as $150 during this time. Sleepbox will be setting up their new rooms on December 7, which is just in time for the busiest time of year.

The best part about this micro hotel is that to use a room; you don’t have to speak with someone, make any calls, or see a booking attendant. Instead, you can stumble across one of the rooms, download the Sleepbox app, and immediately book your time. You will also use this same app to set comfortable room temperatures, control the lighting, and access some of the many wireless entertainment features available.

While there’s no denying these eight-foot high rooms are on the small side, they still feature everything you need to get a restful nap – minus a bathroom. There are also two options – 30 square feet and 45 square feet.

The 30-foot option is on the cozy side, but still offers a memory foam bed, soundproofing, and power outlets. The 45-foot room, on the other hand, is considered a standard size and provides storage space as well.

You then get to enjoy a double drawer for temporary storage, a full-length mirror for making sure you’re presentable post-nap, and comfortable lighting, so you get to enjoy the experience to the fullest.

sleepbox-2 The new micro hotels are going to be a welcome addition to a hectic space that often leaves no opportunity for relaxation. Once you book your room on the Sleepbox app, you walk in and immediately get a feeling of comfort. There is no airport noise, no “final call” alerts, and only calming hues from floor to ceiling.
