French tiny house company, Baluchon, is renowned for its high-quality builds and superior attention to detail. This much is apparent in one of their latest builds, Pétillante. Vendée resident Sarah is the proud owner of Pétillante, the beautiful cedar-clad home on a double-axle trailer with a spruce frame and aluminum roof, which Sarah plans to live in full-time.

It remains warm year-round with cotton, hemp, and linen insulation and a mixture of wood and aluminum double-glazed joinery. This tiny home has a standard RV-style hookup and is ready for Sarah to tow to its final destination in Vendée, western France.
This light, bright, and spacious tiny home boasts a predominantly light wood interior with six meters of usable space. Large windows in the living space let in plenty of natural light, while the six wooden shelves provide a generous amount of storage for knick-knacks, plants, books, and more.
The solid spruce flooring offers the illusion of space, which is necessary for such a conservative footprint. It also brightens up the area with the help of the sun streaming through the large living room window.
The kitchen is the heart of Pétillante, with access from the outside directly into this area. It’s also Sarah’s favorite part of her tiny home, with plenty of space to cook up a storm.
The kitchen in Pétillante stands out for all the right reasons. It carries on the wood and white theme present in the rest of the home, with white cabinetry paired with beautiful wood countertops. There are multiple storage spaces, a four-burner propane-powered stove, an oven, and a quaint fireplace that warms the tiny home year-round with ease.
Everyone deserves the conveniences of a traditional home, even if they live in a house on wheels. Pétillante is kitted out with a Klarstein fridge-freezer unit tucked into the cabinetry and a Dietrich electric hot water tank kept out of sight.
Once you climb up the ladder from the living and dining area, you enter the gorgeous and deceivingly spacious mezzanine floor with a double bed and generous storage compartment that extends the entire length of the tiny house. There’s a headboard with storage, additional wardrobe space on the ground floor, stunning white-washed walls, and a natural wood feature wall to tie the look together. Two windows on each side also allow for a cross-breeze, which is bound to be appreciated in the warmer months of the year.
The bathroom is akin to those you’d find in a traditional home. It has a small white vanity with a natural wood top, an 80x80cm shower with hinged glass doors, and a mirror for convenience and to offer the illusion of space.
