This charming teardrop called The Gidget Retro Teardrop Camper is quite unique as it is the only teardrop in the world that has a patented slide-out which converts the compact camper to almost double the internal space in one simple and quick action. The Australian team behind The Gidget wanted to create the best teardrop camper in the world and their model is packed with impressive features you‘d only expect to find much larger, high budget caravans.
As The Gidget is streamlined and deliberately weighted low to the ground for stability it is extremely easy to tow, being so aerodynamic it doesn’t drag and fuel consumption is low. The Gidget body is the same width as a standard car and you can easily see down both sides of the camper whilst you are travelling without needing extra mirrors.

If you find a great little spot somewhere you might not want to move for days. No worries, there‘s plenty of power on board with a 110W mono-crystalline solar power system, deep cycle battery and inverter easily recharged by solar panels or via the Anderson plug. Large water and waste tanks are an important part of the design. Just fill up as you hit town if you need.
The kitchen features beautiful curved timber faces, Esky/Fridge drawer, pantry and utility drawers, and a toughened glass double burner cooktop with its own storage underneath. Note the generous storage available on the shelves above, pressurized water in a toughened glass-lidded sink and access to a rotating entertainment console.

The Queen-size bed easily converts to a lounge due to the patented design.
There are hand holds so that one person can lift up the front section of the ‘underfloor’ to create a seat back in position, revealing a generous under floor storage area, which is also the foot well. You could store your portable table and chairs in this area so when you arrive at your campsite, you pull back the lounge, take them out and set them up outside in front of your kitchen. This leaves your footwell clear for using the lounge. However, you may only rarely use the lounge, and in this case you have a large storage area for other gear. There are other storage compartments under the bed as well as your spare tyre. The pull out table is a generous size and slides away out of view when not needed. You can use the table in both the bed position and the lounge position. The little camper has generous sized and screened windows as well as a large overhead skylight so you can have natural light during the day or sleep under the stars at night
