An Ingenious Hideaway Bed Saves Valuable Space in This Chic Studio Apartment

Trying to afford an apartment in France is no easy feat, but it could be if you set your sights on something smaller. That’s what a 24-year-old woman did when she tried to get onto the property ladder. She found a 20m2 (215 ft2) studio apartment a mere few kilometers from Chantilly and spent 50,000 euros (about $56,000) transforming it into a fun and functional space. She also didn’t let the small footprint scare her.

Every single square meter has been planned to perfection, with room for two people to comfortably sleep, dine, and relax. The goal for the owner was to create a bright, Scandinavian-inspired space that would not let aesthetics compromise function.
