A Tiny Home So ‘Twt’ (Neat and Cozy) It Could Only Have Been Built in Wales

The Welsh word twt—meaning neat, tidy, and “just right”—has long been used to describe something small, well-made, and cosy. It feels like a natural fit, then, for a Welsh tiny home builder to adopt the name, and to create a model that embodies the spirit of the word so well.

Based in Snowdonia, North Wales, Twt Tiny Homes has shaped the 660 Mezzanine with an emphasis on thoughtful design and warm, natural materials. The home is crafted by hand using locally sourced, eco-friendly elements like sheep’s wool insulation and milled Welsh timber, giving it a grounded, distinctly regional feel.

The 660 Mezzanine is arranged for everyday living but adapts easily to guest use or even off-grid stays. Inside, you’ll find a compact yet efficient layout with a kitchen, bathroom, living area, and a mezzanine bedroom tucked above. The company also works closely with buyers, allowing each home to reflect the needs and style of the person who’ll be living in it.

Prices for the Twt Tiny Homes 660 Mezzanine begin at £51,400 (inc. VAT), or roughly US $67,500 depending on exchange rates.

The 660 Mezzanine by Twt Tiny Homes in Snowdonia, North Wales, is a beautifully designed tiny home that puts sustainability, warmth, comfort, and practicality at the fore. It has an efficient layout with a kitchen, bathroom, living area, and an upstairs bedroom. Its platform size is 660 x 244 cm (about 21.7 ft x 8 ft), with a height of 320 cm (approximately 10.5 ft).

It boasts gorgeous A-grade Douglas Fir and Larch cladding, redwood beams forming an upstairs mezzanine, and built-in storage. For durability, style, and to complete the look, there is a corrugated roof and partial corrugated side panels. Adding modernity and style are the black UPVC windows, with outward-opening bottom-hinged windows throughout, as well as a large front-facing window.

The living area is bathed in natural light from the large living room window.

It’s also cosy, with a handmade sofa upholstered in custom fabric, which the occupants can also use as a single bed.

The timeless interior is charming in every sense of the word. A homely look is achieved through tongue-and-groove wall panels, a solid pine door, and warm light from the independent wall and pendant lights. You can also choose from Little Greene or Farrow & Ball paint.

The use of natural wood and colours certainly makes this tiny home appear warmer and more comfortable. However, several inclusions contribute to that warmth. The floor subbase is insulated with Celotex, while the walls and roof have four inches of sheep’s wool insulation. You can also choose to install a wood burner, such as the Chilli Penguin ‘Billy’ log burner, or the Little Burners ‘Betty’ log burner.

Completing the look is the Woodpecker composite laminate flooring with underlay. The laminate flooring panels are made from 100% recycled materials.

The kitchen is everything you could need for everyday meal preparation and dining. Choose from three laminate worktop colours and enjoy 2.4m of workable space, including a breakfast bar and seating area. There is even an integrated wine rack to enjoy your favourite drop!

Best of all, storage is certainly not lacking with two generous 500mm cupboards and four drawers. To cook up a storm, you’ll find the electric or LPG oven and the integrated 24-volt fridge convenient.

Twt Tiny Homes thought of everything for a stylish and practical kitchen. You’ll be able to wash dishes in the composite sink with a kitchen tap in copper, black, or chrome. The cabinet and drawer handles can even match, since they are available in black, chrome, copper, and wood finishes. Completing the look is the tiled backsplash, which you can choose during the design process.

The upstairs mezzanine bedroom has everything you need for a comfortable night’s slumber. Make your way up the storage stairs in the kitchen and rest soundly in the double bed.

The beautiful feature wall offers the illusion of more space, while the two windows deliver a wonderful cross-breeze. The bedroom also provides excellent views over the living area.

The bathroom in the 600 Mezzanine tiny home isn’t just practical; it’s charming, beautifully crafted, and packed with options.

Choose from a standard toilet for mains or a waste tank, depending on whether you’re opting for mains living or off-the-grid adventures.

There is also a mixer shower with eye-catching tiles and a composite sink with a copper, black, or chrome tap. You can even choose to have a spacious 1.2m bathroom or a more compact 1m option.

Just a short stroll from the village of Llanfechell on the Isle of Anglesey, this gorgeous tiny house is now available as a holiday rental—perfect for anyone craving a cosy Welsh escape.
