This $23.5K Tiny Home Proves Affordable Living Isn’t Dead Yet

It can sometimes seem as though even tiny homes are out of the financial reach of many purchasers. They have long been a cost-effective alternative to a traditional house, but are becoming more luxurious, more innovative, and more expensive by the day.

While luxury tiny homes fill a niche in the market, there is still room for no-frills options that offer affordability, practicality, and suitability for everyday use. That’s where Element 16 comes in.

Element 16 is a 16′ long × 8′5″ wide × 13′6″ tall towable tiny home built by the Georgia-based tiny home company, Dragon Tiny Homes. The exterior consists of LP Smart Siding, a robust and durable product designed to last for years. Prices for this model start from $23,500.

The main living area is adjacent to the kitchen with enough space for a couch or love seat and a small table. You can customize it to your needs. The ply walls also give you the freedom to add your own personality. This area is well-lit with two windows.

A ladder in the living space offers easy access to the loft bedroom, which is a cosy retreat that maximizes vertical space. Dragon Tiny Homes can also install a staircase, if you would prefer.

The living room is a relaxing haven. You can also maximize storage space in this area by installing floating shelves on the walls.

The kitchenette in Element 16 is small, but it’s entirely functional with counter space and storage options. It also has a stainless-steel sink and space for a two-burner cooktop. It makes use of all available space, tucked away in a corner with shelving and a large window for natural light.

Near the front door, a spacious storage area doubles as a potential laundry zone. With an upgrade, it can neatly accommodate a combination washer-dryer tucked inside a cabinet

While the kitchenette is simple, it provides access to everything you need for everyday living, including a sink. You can also add your own two-burner cooktop or purchase an add-on to have a built-in induction cooktop.

Looking down from the loft area, there is around 130 square feet of living space on the first floor. This makes up the living area, kitchen, and bathroom. T

After climbing up the ladder, you’re guided into a comfortable sleeping area. With a large window, the area is well-lit and well-ventilated. In-ceiling lighting also complements the natural light.

The loft bedroom can comfortably fit a king-sized bed, but if you downsize to a smaller mattress, you’ll free up valuable floor space for extra storage.

A partition wall at the end of the loft is an important safety measure. However, it also adds separation between living and sleeping.

The bathroom has everything you need for convenient everyday living, including a standard flush toilet and a 32-inch shower. There is also a cubby area in this space. It delivers additional space for a closet. Add your own hanging rods, shelves, and a laundry basket, and you have a comprehensive storage area.
