In the early 1930s, California became home to the first Teardrop Trailer, a revolutionary tear-shaped trailer unit that shot to fame and gained popularity throughout the 1950s. It revolutionized open air accommodation and became the baseline for a whole range of new trailers and accommodation options.
Wind the clock forward close to nine decades, and the teardrop trailer continues to sit up the driveways of many Americans, but possibly not in quite the same way. Recently, a French company and Toulouse brand Hundred Miles, along with designer Patrick Sarran, manufactured a new teardrop trailer known as MyDrop. It would follow the same lines as a traditional teardrop trailer but would cater more toward nomadic lifestyles and being “at one” with nature.
MyDrop is a caravan and tent in one, weighs less than 750kg for effortless towing, and provides everything you need to get back to nature without the burden of hauling a large caravan. However, don’t let its small size fool you, for MyDrop could comfortably cater to your needs for many days. It includes a bedroom area, small kitchen, and ample storage too. All that’s missing is a self-contained toilet.
The exterior features lightweight aluminum and foam panels as well as recycled plastic bottle panel cores. Both of these materials help to make the trailer lightweight and unobtrusive. There is also a continuous ventilation skylight, a front 220-liter storage box, and a mosquito net with blackout curtains for when you’re out in nature but don’t want to experience all of it..
The interior will amaze you. There is an optional round table and retractable floor, a three-part mattress with HR foam and a removable cover, and ample cabinetry for all your clothing and tools of the trade

By way of lighting, you don’t need to rely on your torchlight. MyDrop comes equipped with a kitchen ceiling light, reading lights, and an LED ceiling lamp.
The sleeping area is cozy, yet spacious.
The galley to the rear of MyDrop will have you cooking up a storm. It comes with a 40-liter cool box, portable stove, cupboards for storage, and a 20-liter water tank.
