Ashley Webber is the founder of Supertramped Co, a company that turns everyday vehicles into handcrafted campervans. While the company has created some beautiful homes on wheels, there’s one, in particular, that has been turning heads everywhere it goes: Rumi.
Rumi is a Ford Transit Trend that got its name from the 13th-century Persian poet. Ashley was contacted through Facebook about turning the Transit into a spectacular campervan that was light, earthy, and organic. The owner wanted a seamless flow from the entry to exit, along with a natural space that would capture nature’s beauty on the road. Ashley and a team of craftspeople got to work, and Rumi was born.
One of the first things you notice when you step inside the spacious interior is the British Western Redwood cladding. The strong wood theme partnered with rustic brass, vintage tiles, and artwork meets the brief in more ways than one. Rumi also features a beautiful kitchen in the van’s centre, a pull-out double bed that folds away to reveal a dining area, and a top-of-the-line electrical system and bathroom. No stone has been left unturned in creating an entirely functional yet beautiful space for life on the road.
While the interior is the picture of perfection, the outside is akin to a Picasso painting. The stained-glass door is handmade by Jan Czugalinski, while the exterior paneling features a stunning forest design. The final touch is a tree of life mural on the rear door. Supertramped Co took great pride in bringing this work of art to life, and now the Transit’s owner gets to enjoy endless adventures in a practical, comfortable, and stylish space.
Supertramped Co created a custom home on wheels out of a Ford Transit Trend. The goal was to make it earthy, organic, and light.
The custom exterior is a beautiful forest and mountain scene produced by Sam Garden. It sets the scene for the rustic, natural interior.
The customer wanted to be able to walk through the van from the front to the back. SupertrampedCo delivered with a seamless layout featuring British Western Redwood cladding, rope curtain ties, rustic brass, and vintage tiles throughout.
SupertrampedCo installed a 1m x 1.5m Velux Skylight, produced by CRS Building Supplies Bridgewater. This lets in plenty of light during the day and allows for stargazing at night.
The kitchen makes meal preparation on the road a breeze. It comes kitted with The Hobbit Stove by Salamander Stoves, a Dometic 3-ring hob and CRX50 fridge/freezer, Mandarine Stone tiles, a Smev oven and grill, and a beautiful farm-style sink with brass fixtures.
